Matthew 7:21

A Chirstian

A Christian

Some self-professed athletes can “talk” a great game, but that tells you nothing about their athletic skills. And not everyone who talks about heaven belongs to God’s kingdom. Jesus is more concerned about our walk than our talk. He wants us to do right, not just say the right words. Your house (which represents your life) will withstand the storms of life only if you do what is right instead of just talking about it. What you do cannot be separated from what you believe.

Psalms 119:9

Surrender and obey

Surrender and obey

Click here to view the verse.

We are drowning in a sea of impurity. Everywhere we look we find temptation to lead impure lives. The psalmist asked a question that troubles us all: How do we stay pure in a filthy environment? We cannot do this on our own, but must have counsel and strength more dynamic than the tempting influences around us. Where can we find that strength and wisdom? By reading God’s Word and doing what it says.

Zechariah 10:2

Trust in God alone

Trust in God alone

We often create idols of money, power, fame, or success, and then we expect them to give us happiness and security. But these idols can’t supply what we need any more than a stone image can make it rain. How foolish it is to trust in idols. Instead, trust God’s promises for your future.

Hosea 4:4

Blaming others.

Blaming others.

Click here to view the verse.

We often blame others if we fear punishment for wrongdoing. Hosea warned the priests not to blame anyone else; the nation’s sins were largely their fault. Israel’s priests pointed out the people’s sins, but God would not allow them to overlook their own irresponsible actions. Instead of instructing the nation in religion and morality, they had led the way toward idolatry and immorality. Their failure to lead the people in God’s ways placed most of the blame for Israel’s destruction on them. Knowing that God will not allow us to blame others for our sinfulness should cause us to admit our own sins. We are responsible for our own sinful actions. Beware of the tendency to blame others because it can keep you from feeling the need to repent.

On 4/7/2014, which was our last meeting before the farewell, was also the games day.

This was what we did: All of us had a piece of paper on the back of our bodies, and we were supposed to write on others’ papers and let others write on our papers. We were required to write words of encouragement.

We played some interesting games and all of us had fun. Prizes were given to the team which scored the highest throughout the games.

We took a group photo before “bye bye”.

Jeremiah 10:23-24

Let go. Let God.

Let go. Let God.

God’s ability to direct our lives well is infinitely beyond our ability. Sometimes we are afraid of God’s power and God’s plans because we know his power would easily crush us if he used it against us. Don’t be afraid to let God correct your plans. He will give you wisdom if you are willing.

Isaiah 45:7

Good and Bad

Good and Bad

Click here to view the verse.

God is ruler over light and darkness, over prosperity and disaster. Our lives are sprinkled with both types of experiences, and both are needed for us to grow spiritually. When good times come, thank God and use your prosperity for him. When bad times come, don’t resent them, but ask what you can learn from this refining experience to make you a better servant of God.
